When I'm wearing the HUD and/or the cuffs, I can't teleport. |

This is one of those wonderful SL "features". Affects all heavily-scripted toys, but only some of the time. This seems to affect some people some of the time. I've talked to LL about this and they say it's got to do with an avie having too many total scripts and script-states (the bytecode, the memory, at which point we're pausing, etc.) that needs to be transferred from the current sim to the new sim. Their solution: remove attachments before TP'ing. Problem is, you can have zero (or very few) attachments, and TP can still fail. So their solution, while ingenius, is about as practical as asking us to wear simple 2005-style attachments/skins so as to not use up server resources. Something isn't quite right. What I am doing about it. In the mid-term, I am refactoring scripts to dramatically reduce the number of scripts required to power the HUD and cuffs. Cuffs version 2.4.0 and Gags 4.1.0 will be powered by far fewer scripts. What you can do about it. 1. Go to SL support. If you have chat support, use that. If not, send in a ticket. 2. They will tell you the same story. Insist that it's not a good solution.
3. If you're on chat, they'll ask you to submit a ticket. Ask whether they could hold while you do it immediately, so that you can give them the ticket number, so that they can forward this to their developers. This way, your suggestion has a better chance of getting to the development team. Why do this? Because LL doesn't listen. They need to receive a lot of complaints over a long period of time before they understand that there is a problem. So please, do your part, and submit now. |
