Why do I lose stuff or settings in Second Life? |
|||||
That is why if you crash, or disconnect from the sim, and you come back in, your attachment reverts back to a previous (last "saved" state). Thus it is a good idea to force SL to save your settings on permanent asset servers. To do so, you do one of two things:
The LULU Signature HUD v.5 series automatically saves your settings (e.g. Circle levels, new owners, cuff color, sizes etc.) to LULU servers, so that if you crash, your data won't go poof. However, every time you rez a LULU Setup ball (i.e. you're dropping stuff into the HUD, as part of setup, re-setup, activation or transfer), the red dot will appear on your HUD. This prompts you to "save" the HUD in a safe manner, by auto-detaching and getting you to re-wear within 15-30 secs etc. Beware though: if you re-wear too soon after the auto-detach, you will still lose your setup - your HUD will simply revert to the pre-setup stage (or worse, you might actually lose the gear in your HUD). Welcome to SL. |
